Canadian Dollar Declines as Oil Prices Fall and Markets Rise
The Canadian dollar continued to decline on Friday, losing nearly a quarter of a cent.
The loonie closed at US$0.7212 or US$1=C$1.3866, compared to Thursday's close of US$0.7235 or US$1=C$1.3822.
Benchmark crude oil prices also fell on Friday, with West Texas Intermediate losing US$2.04 at US$100.44 per barrel and Brent crude declining by US$2.83 at US$104.80.
The TSX Composite Index added 191.21 points to close at 35,697.49, while the Dow Jones advanced 509.19 points at 52,573.29.
