Canadian Dollar Eases Before Bank of Canada Rate Call
The Canadian dollar has eased by 0.2% ahead of the Bank of Canada's interest rate announcement, scheduled for 09:45 EDT today.
A Reuters poll of 35 economists found unanimous expectations that the overnight rate will remain at 2.25%, with the two-year benchmark yield standing at 3.01%, 76 basis points higher than the policy rate.
The Canadian dollar's value against the US dollar, measured by USD/CAD, rose to 1.3928 at 07:34 EDT, a 0.2% increase from its previous close.
