The Canadian dollar is holding steady after yesterday's move higher, awaiting key economic releases from the United States today. US weekly jobless claims are expected to increase by 5,000 to 202,000, and traders are also looking ahead to Friday's nonfarm payrolls release.

The greenback remains cautious amidst ongoing tensions in the Middle East, with President Trump saying an agreement with Iran is within reach but warning of overwhelming military action if negotiations fail. Oil prices continue to hold firm, with WTI trading near its upper end of a 74.61-76.02 range.

Asian markets closed mixed overnight, while European indices are showing moderate gains in early trading today. The EURUSD and GBPUSD are also steady, awaiting US jobs data and any fresh word from the Iran ceasefire talks.
