Canadian Stock Index Futures Steady After BoC Rate Hold
Canadian stock index futures remained steady on Thursday morning following the Bank of Canada's decision to leave interest rates unchanged. The S&P/TSX Composite Index futures hovered at 2,121.30 points, showing little movement in early trading.
The pause in futures trading comes after a strong cash session on Wednesday, where the S&P/TSX Composite index advanced 0.74% due to broad gains across materials, healthcare, and financial listings.
The Canadian dollar strengthened to a one-week high against its U.S. counterpart, trading near 1.3930 per greenback (or 71.78 U.S. cents), fueled by the Bank of Canada's decision and firm benchmark prices.
