Canadian Stock Market Sees Mixed Day Amid Global Volatility
The Canadian stock market experienced a mixed day on the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX), with some notable movers. The TSX index gained 0.5%, while the S&P 500 and DOW indices saw slight increases of 0.05% and 0.46%, respectively. In contrast, the NASDAQ index declined by 0.64%. Energy stocks were down, with oil prices dropping 3.12%. The Canadian dollar also lost value against the US dollar, falling 0.07%. On the other hand, gold saw a slight increase of 0.51%.
Among individual TSX movers, Enbridge Inc. (ENB) and Bank of Nova Scotia (BNS) gained 0.98% and 0.7%, respectively. Invesque Inc. (IVN) declined by 0.19%. Meanwhile, Toronto-Dominion Bank (T) surged ahead with a gain of 1.19%.
The Korean Won/Indonesian Rupiah exchange rate saw an increase of 3.37% over the past year.
