Canadian Trust in Carney Surges as Poilievre's Ratings Plummet
A new poll conducted by Research Co. has found that Canadian trust in Prime Minister Mark Carney's economic management has increased, while faith in opposition leader Pierre Poilievre has decreased.
The online survey of a representative national sample found that 59% of Canadians say they trust Carney to do the right thing to help the economy, up six points since February. In contrast, fewer than two-in-five Canadians (38%) trust Poilievre to do the right thing, down two points from February.
The poll also showed that a majority of Canadians aged 18-to-34 (53%), 35-to-54 (57%), and 55 and over (66%) express confidence in Carney's economic management. Poilievre does best with Canadians aged 18-to-34 (46%), but drops significantly among those aged 35-to-54 (38%) and 55 and over (29%).
