Canadians Cool on Las Vegas Homes Amidst Economic Uncertainty
Canadian interest in Las Vegas homes has seen a significant decline, outpacing the national average. According to Redfin's search result database, year-over-year statistics show that Canadian searches for homes in Las Vegas have dropped by 25.2 percent.
This is well above the national decline of 15.3 percent, indicating that Canadians are being cautious about making major purchases abroad due to economic uncertainty. The Canadian economy has been struggling with a trade war and its own real estate crisis, leading many to put their plans on hold.
Chen Zhao, head of Economic Research at Redfin, attributes the decline to these economic factors, stating that 'buying a home in another country is a particularly big financial commitment.'
The decline in Canadian interest in Las Vegas homes is part of a broader trend. According to the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, Canadian visitation was down 20 percent in 2025, with airline seat capacity for flights coming from Canada also decreasing by 30 percent.
