A recent survey has revealed that Canadians' economic outlook remains cautious, with nearly three in five respondents rating current conditions as 'bad' or 'very bad'.

Despite this pessimism, a significant proportion of Canadians, 59%, trust Prime Minister Mark Carney to help steer the economy. This confidence is higher than it was in February, and even surpasses levels seen for Bank of Canada governor Tiff Macklem and Official Opposition Leader Pierre Poilievre.

The survey also found that Albertans are the most pessimistic about the current economic conditions, with only 27% rating them as 'very good' or 'good'. However, Canadians across all regions exhibit cautious optimism regarding the economy's near-term prospects, with 44% expecting no changes over the next six months.
