Carney Celebrates Hindu Community's Impact on Canada
Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney praised the significant contributions of Hindu Canadians to the country's growth, highlighting their impact in various sectors such as information technology, software development, healthcare, engineering, and public service. He extended greetings to the Canadian Hindu Chamber of Commerce (CHCC) at its annual Dhanteras gala in Calgary, Alberta.
Carney commended the chamber for supporting businesses and contributing to the Canadian economy, saying that 'through their innovation, leadership, and service, they have strengthened Canada's social, cultural, and economic fabric.' He also welcomed CHCC members to Alberta, where Premier Danielle Smith acknowledged their role in supplying 'the innovative spirit, resilience and resolve' needed for the province's growth.
The gala honored several individuals with awards, including Dr. Ramesh Kumar Vankwani, a senior Pakistani Parliamentarian, who received the CHCC Global Hindu award. Former MLA Peter Singh was chosen for the President's Award, while Leela Aheer and Hasmukh Patel were recognized for their contributions.
