Prime Minister Mark Carney's Canada Investment Summit is taking place in Toronto on September 14, and its main goal is to attract capital investment. The summit aims to catalyze C$1 trillion in total investment over five years, with the federal government providing C$280 billion in capital investments and incentives to draw in private and institutional partners.

The Bank of Canada has warned that Canadian investment levels remain below those of a decade ago, and the country lags behind the US in terms of capital spending per worker. To address this issue, Carney is attempting to turn Canada's economic strengths into an investable national program.

According to research by CPP Investments, 94% of senior investment professionals surveyed expect to maintain or increase their exposure to Canada over the next three years. However, investors still require market opportunity, regulatory efficiency, and attractive risk-adjusted returns to commit capital.
