The Central Bank of Montenegro (CBCG) has stated that it does not expect the recent increase in key interest rates by the European Central Bank (ECB) to have a significant impact on domestic interest rates.

According to the CBCG, while there may be some indirect effects, they will depend on various domestic and external factors.

The ECB's Governing Council raised its three key interest rates by 25 basis points in September, with the deposit facility rate increasing to 2.5 percent, the main refinancing operations rate to 2.65 percent, and the marginal lending facility rate to 2.9 percent.
