The Ghanaian Cedi has experienced a slight depreciation against the US dollar on Thursday, August 6, 2026. According to Cedirates.com, the Cedi's average buying rate stood at GHS11.63 and selling rate at GHS12.15 compared to Wednesday's rates. At forex bureaus, the Cedi traded at GHS12.00 for dollar purchases and GHS12.35 for sales.
On the Bank of Ghana interbank market, the Cedi was trading at GHS11.73 for buying and GHS11.75 for selling. The British pound also saw a slight fluctuation with an average forex bureau rate of GHS15.56 for buying and GHS16.39 for selling.
LemFi and Taptap Send offered competitive rates for money transfers from the US or UK to Ghana, ranging from GHS11.73 to GHS13.51 for various currencies. Digital subscription payments via Visa and Mastercard saw an exchange rate of GHS12.65 and GHS12.63 respectively.
