Cedi Fluctuates Against Major Currencies on September 4
The Ghanaian Cedi has continued to fluctuate in value against major currencies on September 4, 2026. The average buying rate of GHS11.49 is two pesewas higher than the previous day, while the selling rate remains the same at GHS11.90. At forex bureaus, the Cedi trades at GHS11.75 for dollar purchases and GHS12.15 for sales.
On the Bank of Ghana's interbank market, the cedi is trading at GHS11.36 for buying and GHS11.37 for selling rates. The British pound is trading at GHS15.23 for buying and GHS16.27 for selling at forex bureaus, while the Bank of Ghana's interbank rate stands at GHS15.39.
The Euro is also experiencing fluctuations, with an average forex bureau rate of GHS13.06 for buying and GHS13.99 for selling. The Bank of Ghana's interbank rate for the Euro is slightly lower at GHS13.21. In the money transfer space, LemFi and Taptap Send are offering competitive rates for remittances from the US or UK to Ghana.
