China's Yuan Hits Strongest Level Since February
The People's Bank of China has set the yuan's mid-point at its strongest level since February 8, 2023, at a rate of 6.7878 per U.S. dollar.
This move by the central bank indicates a firmer stance on the yuan, aligning with recent trends showing the currency in the mid-6.74 to 6.78 range.
The decision comes despite setting the midpoint weaker than market expectations, specifically 465 pips below Reuters' model estimate.
