Chinese Company Accused of Hacking Federal Agencies, Including NASA and Fed Reserve

A Chinese company linked to the Beijing government has been accused of hacking into multiple federal agencies and sensitive networks nationwide, according to the US Department of Justice. The hackers targeted the Federal Reserve, National Institutes of Health, National Aeronautics and Space Administration, and the Departments of Justice, Energy, and Health and Human Services.

The investigation found that QTFY, or the Nanjing Xinjiuwei Network Technology Company, was using two domains, QScan and QTRouter, to hack into sensitive networks. The DOJ and FBI seized these domains after determining they were being used for malicious activities sponsored by the People's Republic of China.

Attorney General Todd Blanche stated that state-sponsored hackers preying on America's critical infrastructure will be stopped and prosecuted. He emphasized the importance of ensuring security for the American people and using every tool available to keep this promise.
