Chinese Hackers Target Multiple US Federal Agencies
US government officials have revealed that Chinese state-sponsored hackers targeted multiple federal agencies, highlighting potential risks to government and critical infrastructure.
The compromised agencies include the Department of Justice, NASA, the Federal Reserve, the Department of Energy, Health and Human Services, the National Institutes of Health, and the U.S. Senate.
According to a DOJ press release, the hackers used internet domains linked to 'QScan' and 'QTRouter', which officials say were used by the PRC-backed group 'QTFY' to access US networks and conceal their activity.
The FBI affidavit alleges that these groups have compromised hospitals, power companies, telecom providers, financial institutions, and defense contractors since at least 2018.
