Circa Resort's 'At Par' Promotion Lures Over 120,000 Canadians to Las Vegas
Derek Stevens, owner of Circa Resort and Casino in downtown Las Vegas, reported that his 'At Par' currency exchange promotion brought over 120,000 new Canadian visitors to his properties within a few months.
The initiative, which treated Canadian dollars as equivalent to US dollars across select gaming, hotel, and beverage offerings, was launched in January and ended on August 31.
Stevens said the promotion resulted in more than 8,000 room bookings, nearly double the typical number of rooms booked by his three hotels. He attributed the success to Canadians taking advantage of a favorable exchange rate, with US$1 being given for each C$1 spent instead of the actual exchange rate of about 72 cents.
The 'At Par' initiative was designed to counter a decline in Canadian visitation to Las Vegas, which has been reported to be around 24% between January and November 2025. The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA) had also launched efforts to repair relationships with the Canadian market, including a three-year marketing agreement and additional funding.
Stevens expressed his hope that all Canadians would feel welcome back in Las Vegas, noting that tourism had slowed partly due to flight costs and exchange rates. He emphasized that Canadians are missed and remain an important part of the city's international market.
