Circle Stock Outlook Torn Between Fed Rate Hike and Reserve Income
Circle's stock outlook is uncertain as it faces competing pressures from potential Federal Reserve rate hikes and reserve income. The company reported $668 million in second-quarter reserve income, with higher USDC circulation partly offsetting a 66-basis-point drop in reserve yield.
The CME FedWatch places quarter-point hike odds near 87%, which could improve yields on cash and short-term Treasury assets backing USDC reserves over time. However, tighter financial conditions could weaken crypto demand, equity valuations, and investor risk appetite.
Circle's stock is currently trading at $90.60, with a weekly decline of 11.22%. A decisive close below $90 would weaken the short-term structure and expose $87.14, while sustained buying above $100 could reopen $103 to $105 before traders assess $107 and $110.
