The cost of living and inflation have become the top concern for Americans, according to a recent poll. The Marquette University Law School survey found that 35% of respondents consider cost of living and inflation their most important issue, with the economy coming in second at 15%. This marks a shift from previous concerns about the Iran war, which has now dropped to 10%, its lowest point since it began being surveyed.

Despite annual inflation dipping from 4.1% in May to 3.7% in June, according to the personal consumption expenditure (PCE) price index, three regional Federal Reserve presidents dissented from the decision to leave interest rates unchanged, citing elevated inflation as a concern.

The poll also showed that only 28% of Americans believe the nation's economy is in an excellent or good state. Furthermore, 75% of respondents do not think the U.S. has achieved its goal in the Iran war, up from 72% in June.
