Couche-Tard Results and Interest Rate Decision Set Stage for Canadian Business Week
The Canadian business world will be closely watching several key events in the coming week. On Tuesday, Alimentation Couche-Tard Inc., a leading convenience store operator, will release its financial results for the first quarter of its 2027 financial year. The company's conference call with investors and financial analysts is scheduled for Wednesday morning.
The Bank of Canada will make its interest rate decision on Wednesday, with economists widely expecting it to keep its policy interest rate at 2.25 per cent. This decision comes after Statistics Canada reported that the annual rate of inflation rose to three per cent in July, up from 2.8 per cent in June.
Statistics Canada will also release two key reports this week: international merchandise trade figures for July on Thursday and its labour force survey for August on Friday. BRP Inc., a maker of recreational vehicles, will release its second-quarter financial results before markets open on Thursday, while Lululemon Athletica Inc. will publish its second-quarter results after the close of markets on Thursday.
