Cuban Informal Currency Market Experiences Mixed Outlook This Thursday
The Cuban informal currency market is experiencing a mixed outlook this Thursday, according to CiberCuba. The US dollar remains unchanged and stable at 673 Cuban pesos (CUP), with a buy rate of 670 CUP and a sell rate of 675 CUP. This marks the third consecutive day without any significant changes in its value.
The euro, on the other hand, is experiencing a slight pullback after several days of upward pressure. Its price has decreased by 2.5 pesos compared to yesterday's close at 785 pesos, and it now hovers around 783 CUP. The buying price is 775 CUP, while the selling price is 790 CUP.
The MLC (Moneda Libremente Convertible), a currency used in state-run businesses, has an indicative value of 450 CUP at this opening, with a purchase price of 439 CUP and a sale price of 461 CUP. However, the data available is scarce, so this value should be considered as indicative.
The official exchange rate of the Central Bank of Cuba (Segment III) remains significantly below the values that prevail in everyday practice in the informal currency market. The difference between the two rates widens or narrows depending on demand pressure.
