Cuban Informal Currency Market Sees Dollar and Euro Gains
The informal currency market in Cuba has seen significant gains for both the U.S. dollar and euro, according to data from CiberCuba Exchange Rate as of September 13, 2026.
The U.S. dollar ended the day at 694 Cuban pesos (CUP), marking a 1 peso increase from the previous day's close of 693 CUP. Over the past week, the American currency has risen by 11 pesos from 683 CUP, representing a 1.6% increase.
The euro also saw gains, concluding the day at 791 CUP, up 3 pesos from the previous session's close of 788 CUP. The European currency has increased by 15.5 pesos over the past week from 775 CUP, translating to a 2% rise.
