Cuban Informal Currency Market Sees Dollar Stability, Euro Decline
The informal currency market in Cuba has opened this Sunday with mixed movements across its main currencies. The United States dollar remains stable at 664 Cuban pesos, while the euro has declined to 758 pesos and the MLC (Freely Convertible Currency) has fallen to 446 pesos.
The stability of the dollar does not prevent it from remaining below its value from a week ago, having accumulated a decrease of 8.5 pesos (-1.3%) over that period.
The euro also shows a more noticeable decline when the comparison is expanded, losing 20 pesos (-2.6%) compared to seven days ago.
In contrast, looking back a month reveals an increase in value for all three currencies: the dollar has risen by 9 pesos (+1.4%), the euro by 2.5 pesos (+0.3%), and the MLC by 4 pesos (+0.9%).
