Cuban Informal Market Remains Stable Amid Dollar and Euro Gains

The informal currency market in Cuba closed this Saturday, July 25, with no changes in its main references. The US dollar remains stable at 674 Cuban pesos (CUP), maintaining the same value as yesterday. In comparison to seven days ago, the dollar has increased by 10 pesos, or 1.5%, and has climbed by 14 pesos from 660 CUP over the past month.

The euro also closed the day unchanged at 785 CUP, but its week-on-week increase of 20 pesos, or 2.6%, is notable. Over the past month, the euro has risen by 30 pesos, or 4%. The maximum value for both currencies in the last 30 days was reached this Saturday.

The MLC, which has limited availability and use mainly restricted to state-run businesses, closed at an indicative value of 480 CUP. This represents a slight increase compared to the previous day and a rise of 11.6% over the past week.
