Cuban Peso Sees Significant Fluctuations in Exchange Rates Against Major Currencies
The Cuban peso has seen significant fluctuations in its exchange rate against major currencies on Saturday, August 29th. At 10:00 a.m., the US dollar saw an increase of one peso compared to the previous day, trading at 674 Cuban pesos (CUP). This represents a gain of 11 pesos over the past week and a minimal increase of 1.5 pesos in the last month.
The euro has also risen, gaining five pesos since yesterday's average value of 758 CUP. It is currently trading at 763 CUP, making it the most expensive currency in the parallel market, surpassing the dollar by 89 pesos. In the last week, the euro has risen 17 pesos (2.3%) from 746 CUP seven days ago.
The freely convertible currency, or MLC, has seen a slight decline, trading around 467 CUP with limited data available. This value should be considered as merely indicative due to the restricted circulation of this currency compared to cash currencies.
