The Cuban peso is struggling against the US dollar and euro in the informal market. On August 4, 2026, the US dollar remained steady at 673 Cuban pesos (CUP), while the euro dipped slightly to 784 CUP.

The MLC (Monedero Libre Convertible), a digital currency used by state-run businesses, saw a slight increase to 482 CUP. However, this figure is considered indicative due to low transaction volumes.

The official exchange rate of the Banco Central de Cuba (Segment III) remains significantly lower than the informal market rates, with a difference of 58 pesos for the dollar and 76 pesos for the euro.
