Cuba's Informal Currency Market Remains Stable on August 2
The informal currency market in Cuba has remained stable this Sunday, August 2, with no changes in the exchange rates of the US dollar and euro. The US dollar is trading at 673 Cuban pesos (CUP), while the euro remains at 785 CUP.
Despite the stability, there are signs that demand for dollars continues to be high among those seeking to protect their savings against the depreciation of the peso.
The Convertible Currency (MLC) has shown a slight upward movement, but its reliability is limited due to the low volume of transactions supporting it. The MLC is trading at around 474 CUP, with buying and selling rates of 449 CUP and 498 CUP, respectively.
