In Cuba's informal currency market, both the U.S. dollar and euro saw significant gains on Monday, August 31, 2026.

The American currency closed at an average of 678 Cuban pesos (CUP), a 2-peso increase from the previous session, while the euro rose to 769 CUP, a 4-peso gain.

The MLC exchange rate hovered around 479 CUP, but its value is considered indicative due to limited transaction volumes and restricted circulation.

The gap between the informal market rates and the official exchange rate set by the Central Bank of Cuba remains significant, with a difference of 44 pesos for the dollar and 34 pesos for the euro.
