Cuba's Informal Currency Market Stabilizes Over Weekend
In Cuba's informal currency market, the U.S. dollar held steady over the weekend, maintaining its value at 663 Cuban pesos (CUP) by the market's close on August 22, 2026.
The euro, however, showed a slight gain of two pesos from the previous day's rate, closing at 750 CUP.
The dollar has fluctuated between a high of 675 and a low of 663 CUP in the informal market over the past month, continuing to drive the market amidst Cuba's persistent currency shortage.
