The informal currency market in Cuba saw mixed results on Sunday, August 9, 2026. The U.S. dollar remained constant at 673 Cuban pesos (CUP), a stability that is unusual given its fluctuation between 655 and 675 pesos over the past month.

In contrast, the euro continued to decline for the second consecutive day, closing at 778 CUP. This marks a 10-peso decrease over the week (-1.3%), with the euro surpassing the dollar by 105 pesos in the parallel market.

The MLC also saw further decline on Sunday, dropping 15 pesos from the previous day to around 446 CUP. However, caution is advised when interpreting these figures due to limited trading volume.
