Cyprus Inflation Surges to 5.2% Amid Euro Area Energy Price Spike
Cyprus' annual inflation rate surged to 5.2 per cent in August 2026, significantly higher than the 4.4 per cent recorded in July, according to a flash estimate from Eurostat.
The sharp increase marks the fourth consecutive month of rising inflation for Cyprus, with rates increasing from 3.5 per cent in May to 4.1 per cent in June and 4.4 per cent in July.
The August estimate represents a substantial acceleration compared to earlier this year, when Cyprus recorded an annual rate of 1.5 per cent in March and 3.0 per cent in April.
