The Central Bank of Cyprus is urging citizens to participate in a Europe-wide survey on the design of the next series of euro banknotes. The European Central Bank (ECB) has shortlisted ten proposals for the redesign, which will be the first complete overhaul since the introduction of the euro in 2002.

The redesign competition involved over 1,200 graphic designers, with twenty-five selected to develop proposals based on two themes: European culture and Rivers and birds. An independent jury of 21 experts reviewed the designs and chose the ten shortlisted proposals.

The ECB is now inviting people across Europe to review the proposals and state their preferences through an online survey, which will remain open until September 21, 2026. The Central Bank of Cyprus is encouraging citizens to participate in this public consultation process, saying it will help shape the future appearance of Europe's common currency.
