Dairy Exports Reach $29 Billion in 2025 Amid Rising Demand
A new report highlights the importance of the dairy sector in rural economies across New Zealand. The study, commissioned by DairyNZ and the Dairy Companies Association, reveals that dairy exports reached almost $29 billion in 2025, supporting over 51 thousand jobs.
The report finds that the dairy sector is a backbone of regional New Zealand's economy, wages, and job market. According to Mark Storey, Head of Economics at DairyNZ, revenue should continue to flow as demand for dairy is rising.
