DAX 40 Rockets 1.45% to Near Record High on Improved US-Iran Relations

The DAX 40 index in Frankfurt rallied sharply on Monday, August 3, 2026, gaining 372.07 points or 1.45% to close at 26,001.31.

This brought the benchmark to within 96 points of its 52-week high of 26,096.93, which it reached intraday but then eased back into the close.

The rally was driven by improved global risk sentiment following weekend news that US President Trump had called off a planned military strike against Iran in favor of resuming diplomatic negotiations.

This development sent crude oil prices tumbling, with West Texas Intermediate and Brent crude falling by more than 5% on the day, easing inflation concerns across the eurozone and reducing the perceived risk of an energy-driven economic shock for Germany's industrial base.
