DOJ Shuts Down China-Linked Hacking Platforms Used Against US Networks
The US Department of Justice (DOJ) and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) have announced the shutdown of two key online systems linked to hacking platforms allegedly used by a China state-sponsored group.
The platforms, QScan and QTRouter, were allegedly used by a group identified as QTFY, which was employed by Nanjing Xinjiuwei Network Technology Company in China.
The alleged targets of the hacks include NASA, the Federal Reserve, various US government departments, including Justice, Energy, and Health and Human Services, the National Institutes of Health, and the U.S. Senate.
According to the DOJ, QTFY sold hacking services to paying customers, including China's Ministry of State Security and the People's Liberation Army.
