The US dollar has seen an uptick against the Japanese yen as investors await news on a proposed deal to end the Iran conflict and ahead of this week's jobs report.

Following joint intervention by Japanese and US Treasury authorities, the dollar had been weakening against the yen. However, its value is now up 0.41% at 158.41, marking its third straight session of gains.

Economists are watching closely as markets remain on high alert over tensions in the Gulf, with a proposed deal between Iran and Oman aiming to give Tehran control over inbound traffic through the Strait of Hormuz.
