Dollar Decline Offers Minimal Relief as Cuban Currency Crisis Continues
In Cuba's informal currency market, Tuesday saw mixed signals. By 10:00 a.m. local time, the U.S. dollar had declined slightly, while the euro remained steady and the MLC slipped compared to the previous day.
The dollar has seen significant gains over the past week and month, increasing by 5.5 pesos in a week and 57.5 pesos in 30 days, representing an 0.8% and 9.3% rise respectively. The euro rose by 17 pesos in a week and 87.5 pesos in 30 days.
The MLC has fallen by 9.5 pesos compared to the previous day but gained 43.5 pesos over the last week and 58 pesos over the month, with all these figures affected by possible index methodology adjustments.
