Dollar Eases, Gold Edges Up Ahead of Inflation Data
Gold prices edged up on Tuesday as the US dollar weakened ahead of key inflation data releases.
The spot gold price rose 0.6% to $4,429.89 per ounce by 0208 GMT, while US gold futures for December delivery held steady at $4,475.10.
The US dollar index slipped 0.4%, making metals priced in greenbacks more affordable for other currency holders.
Analysts believe the upcoming inflation data could influence expectations for the Federal Reserve's next policy move.
