Dollar Edges Higher Ahead of US Jobs Data as Yen and Euro End Week Flat
The US dollar edged higher on Friday ahead of the release of July's nonfarm payrolls data, which traders are closely watching for its implications on Federal Reserve interest rate hikes.
Despite the greenback's slight gain, it ended the week with a flat performance, mirroring similar rangebound outcomes for both the euro and the Japanese yen.
The yen traded flat at 158.4 per dollar, surrendering a fraction of its recent gains after logging a modest 0.5% loss on the week.
The euro remained anchored around $1.1520, posting a flat performance on the week, while the won in South Korea continued to slide, extending its six-week losing streak.
