The US dollar has held steady near its two-week high, reaching $99.79 on the dollar index, which measures the greenback against a basket of currencies including the yen and the euro.

This increase comes as renewed hostilities in the Middle East drive up oil prices, reviving concerns about inflation and adding upward pressure on bond yields.

The euro has fallen 0.13% to $1.1577, while the British pound dropped 0.09% to $1.3503, and the Australian dollar fell 0.04% to $0.7141.

The Japanese yen was steady against the dollar at 160.28 per dollar after earlier weakening to its lowest since July 31.
