Dollar Edges Up as European Heatwave and Drought Take Toll
The U.S. dollar saw a slight increase in late trading on Thursday.
The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, rose by 0.25% to 99.93 at 15:00 (1900 GMT).
In contrast, the euro dropped to 1.1524 U.S. dollars from 1.1553 dollars in the previous session, while the British pound fell to 1.3457 dollars from 1.3469 dollars.
The dollar's performance was also observed against other major currencies, including a gain of 0.0055 Swiss francs, and increases in its value against the Japanese yen, Canadian dollar, and Swedish kronor.
