The US dollar strengthened by 0.1% on Thursday after the Federal Reserve decided to keep its policy interest rate unchanged.

This move left markets uncertain about how divisions among Fed members would be resolved, according to Chair Kevin Warsh.

The dollar index, which measures the greenback's strength against six currencies, rose to 100.93.

The British pound was 0.2% weaker ahead of a Bank of England interest rate decision, while the euro slid 0.1% and the Australian dollar remained steady.
