Dollar Falls to Five-Month Low Against Vietnamese Dong
The U.S. dollar's decline against the Vietnamese dong continued on Thursday morning, hitting a five-month low since February 28. According to Vietcombank, the greenback was sold at VND26,250, representing a 0.08% decrease from the previous day.
On the black market, however, the dollar experienced an increase of 0.74%, trading at VND25,990. This contrast highlights the ongoing fluctuations in the exchange rate between the two currencies.
Globally, the dollar's strength stalled following a benign U.S. inflation reading, leading traders to reassess their bets on near-term Federal Reserve interest rate hikes. As a result, the greenback remained largely unchanged against the yen but maintained its trajectory for a 1% weekly gain due to recent joint U.S.-Japan intervention.
