Dollar Firms Amid Iran Peace Uncertainty and US Jobs Caution
Asian currencies traded in a narrow range on Friday as investors awaited key U.S. payrolls data, while uncertainty surrounding a potential Iran peace agreement underpinned the U.S. dollar's safe-haven appeal.
The U.S. dollar index rose 0.1% to 99.97, rebounding from seven-month lows after rising 0.3% in the previous session.
The Japanese yen's pair traded flat at 158.4, giving up some of the sharp gains recorded after last week's rare joint intervention by Japan and the United States.
Investors were cautious ahead of the July U.S. employment report, which is expected to offer fresh clues on the Federal Reserve's policy path.
