Asian currencies traded within a narrow range on Friday as investors awaited key U.S. payrolls data, while uncertainty surrounding a potential Iran peace agreement bolstered the U.S. dollar's safe-haven appeal.

The U.S. Dollar Index rose 0.1% to 99.97 after rebounding from seven-month lows in the previous session.

Despite some losses in regional currencies, most were little changed after the previous day's declines.

The Japanese yen's USD/JPY pair traded flat at 158.4 after giving up some of its intervention-led gains from last week's rare joint operation by Japan and the United States.
