Dollar Holds Firm as Investors Await Warsh's Jackson Hole Speech

The U.S. dollar held steady near its one-week high against major peers on Friday as investors waited for clues from Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh's speech at the Jackson Hole symposium.

Warsh is set to speak at 1400 GMT, and market participants are keenly awaiting his thoughts on monetary policy, inflation, and recent volatility in bond markets.

The euro and sterling were subdued near one-week lows against the greenback, last trading at $1.1645 and $1.3588 respectively.

Meanwhile, bitcoin briefly climbed above $81,000 before paring gains, and was on track for its biggest monthly gain since late 2024.
