Dollar Holds Near One-Week High as Investors Await US Inflation Data
The US dollar held near its one-week high on Friday as investors awaited US inflation data and central bank decisions next week. The U.S. dollar index was around 99.10, little changed after rising 0.3% on Thursday.
The Japanese yen weakened for a second day, with the USD/JPY pair around 154.34, leaving the dollar 1.2% higher against the yen this week.
Brent crude rose 1.2% to $108.96 a barrel in early Asian trading, extending its six-day rally as renewed Middle East tensions raised concerns about energy supply disruptions.
