Dollar Holds Steady Ahead of Inflation Data and Jackson Hole
The US dollar held steady in Asian trading on Wednesday as investors turned their attention to upcoming inflation data and the Jackson Hole economic symposium.
Against a basket of six major currencies, the greenback gained 0.1% to 98.988, remaining close to its three-month high.
However, analysts at Standard Chartered pointed out that the dollar could face additional pressure in the near term due to what they described as an 'incongruous intervention strategy' by the US Treasury.
