Dollar Holds Steady as Focus Shifts to Jackson Hole
The US dollar remained relatively stable on Thursday after a series of economic data releases. Despite some volatility in recent days, the greenback edged up by just 0.02% to 99.14 on the dollar index, which measures its value against a basket of currencies.
One notable release was weekly initial jobless claims, which fell for a second consecutive week to 203,000, below economists' expectations of 208,000. However, this news did little to impact the dollar's movement.
The real focus now shifts to the Jackson Hole symposium, where Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh is set to speak on Friday. Investors will be watching closely for any clues on how policymakers plan to navigate a landscape with rising Treasury yields.
