Dollar Nears Two-Week High Amid Middle East Tensions
The US dollar is near a two-week high due to escalating tensions in the Middle East and rising oil prices.
According to Reuters, the dollar index rose 0.11% to 99.79, its highest level since August 17.
Kumiko Ishikawa, senior foreign exchange market analyst at Sony Financial Group, warned of close attention to developments in the Middle East.
The situation has prompted a surge in oil prices, with Brent crude futures gaining 1.15% to $95.74 a barrel and US WTI crude rising 0.85% to $91.05.
